Are you doing what I did and entering a landline number? It sends the code by text, so needs a mobile number. And by the way, although when I did that it unlocked my account fine, it added the mobile number to my account, and then started sending me texts for all sorts of stuff: a new follower, a new tweet posted, and so on. I went to my settings and found every box ticked to text me for stuff. I unticked for everything and haven't had a text from then since.

No, I entered my mobile but no text came through. I had no problems getting them to this number last time this happened. I pressed resend message but still nothing. It went to 'you have made too many attempts try again later' so I went to bed hoping to sort it this morning. but it is still locked and saying too many attempts so no twitting for me this morning.

I've just been locked out of my account too. Managed to unlock it, but I'm scared to do too many comps now. Which is a shame as twitter comps are my favourite.

I like twitter comps too - was having my best month ever on twitter up to now.

Mmm, I used the form to contact them on their own site to see if that would speed things up and got:

Your request has been submitted to Twitter. We are usually able to respond within a few days, but some issues may take longer.

Not holding my breath then....

Edit - actually got a very quick response.
Telling me to do exactly what I had been doing
...with exactly the same result

I tried with hubby's mobile number but it still just goes to 'you have made too many attempts try again later'

I had the same problem, but when I logged out and in again the code went through fine, hope you get it sorted!
