I put it in our compost bins and our worms in the worm composter like it too, judging by how quickly they seem to get through it, I mean, they are only small!

Think somewhere on here there was an idea to stuff loo roll centres with shreds to make firelighters... not my original idea, but one I think sounds good so will try.

You do have to be careful with dust if using for animal bedding, but I have used it for bedding as a base layer with dust free shavings on top. Makes the shavings go further as it does soak up the wet.

If you dont have a compost bin - could you offer it to your local allotment? I bet they would be happy to take it.
another use for shredded paper is to make new paper! papier mache is a fun project, schools or brownie groups may be happy to use it.
