I wouldn't sell a mobile outside of the UK! I fell victim to this once and after posting the item the buyer was given a refund for the full £160 as he claimed he had not received it. So I had no phone or money!! :(

It is UK, I don't really like dealing outside of these waters on eBay.

So you didnt post it via a trackable method? including covering it with postal insurance for loss or damage?

You can't insure a phone sent overseas where it is worth more than £34. That's why regular sellers will always advise against offering phones for sale overseas.

No the guy did not want it sending insured at all. He insisted how it was to be posted and like a sucker I went along with it. *sigh*

    What? even by courier?

By the way I restrict all my listings to the UK anyway.

I'm pretty sure that you could FedEx or Amtrak it and get insurance - but Royal Mail won't insure phones sent overseas for more than £34. I just couldn't be bothered when I sold mine though - I just let it go UK only.

Yes you can courier overseas if they will offer insurance, but as the postage is extremely high most sellers would automatically use Royal mail for these lighter items, and it is RM that will not insure phones going overseas.

As you now realise insurance for such items should not be an option. Insurance only protects the seller, it has nothing to do with the buyer so protect yourself in future, and read up on some of those paypal requirements.
