A fan can't reduce the temperature on its own. All it can do is make you feel cooler by evaporating the sweat on your skin more quickly.

Like any electrical appliance, the fan will actually give off heat when it is running.

oh i know that but all the reviews i read (including user reviews) said the dyson was different and actually reduced their rooms to a cool temperature.

Don't believe everything you read on the t'internet ! It's a fan, how can it reduce the temperature ?

Don't stress, the number of days you'll have to worry about this are minimal.

I havent read all these posts as to many pages, but wanted to let you know a few things we've tried to keep our house cool.. (currently sitting around 24 degrees)

Keep all the curtains shut all day when there is sun
Open the windows first thing to blow through the cool morning air but as soon as the temp outside goes up close them as you'll only be letting in the warm air.
Again in the evening.. after the suns moved and its cooled down.. open up all the windows.

We also wet all our curtains/drapes and if there was a sight breeze this really helped. (kinda make shift A/C Unit) You need to keep wetting them though.. a garden sprayer works.

I don't recommend for baby but if you're really hot in bed keep a supply of sheets in a plastic bag in the freezer.. absolutely lovely!!
