Who should pay for accidental damage by child

If I'd paid £500 for a pair of glasses I hope I wouldn't be daft enough to leave them lying around where a child could damage them accidently.
Haven't read the whole thread, but I agree with the above.
I paid £400 odd for my last pair of glasses and the frames were only £50 (got them in the kids' section), so the rest was the lens as if I didn't get them thinned down, they look like bottle bottoms!
But even though my glasses are a bit old now, I'm paranoid about them and they have a little case they always go into when they are not on my face. But then I can't see a blooming thing without them, so they are very precious to me.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
