40th birthday getaway for 4-5 lads

I am looking for long weekend ideas, for 4-5 lads going away for their 40th birthday.
UK or europe considered, but if abroad flights must go from Liverpool/manchester.
We have done all the amsterdam/lads holiday type thing, and are looking for something/somewhere with good nightlife and activities in the day.

Like I said previously, have done all the lad things, many times and we are looking for something a bit different.
City breaks are no problem. With regards a budget we all earn reasonable money but won't be taken the p out of, and we won't pay over the odds for anything run of the mill.0 -
