EE pay monthly deposit
Options
Hi, i started a brand new monthly contract with EE last month, and was told i needed to pay £119.99 deposit as my credit rating was a little low. I paid this, and was told i would get it returned after 3 successful monthly direct debits.
Last week they took the first DD of £19.99, and now my account says its £100 in credit.
So in total i have paid £119.99 & then £19.99.
I have today rung them to ask if the £119.99 will still be credited back into my bank account in August like they said originally, and he said no, they will use the credit on my account to pay each months bill until its used up.
I got confused, which then confused him, so im still none the wiser and hope someone can explain it to me. If they are using the original £119.99 credit, why did they take a monthly amount this week? will they now not take any further monthly DD's until the £100 credit it used up? or will i still get the lump sum into my bank after 3 bills are paid?
Thanks in advance
Helen xx

I think it's best to wait until the deposit is actually due back after 3 payments as it may just be the way the system shows it ???
As you are not due for it to be returned there's not much you can do about it at this stage, by which time you will be able to demand it's return. It's not just about the money0 -
I wonder if it's a timing issue - they have charged your account with £19.99 and taken a direct debit of £19.99 to cover it, but the direct debit hasn't been credited to your account yet. If that's the case, when it is applied you should be back to your £119.99 float again.0

There isn't a deposit amount on the system for that amount. Wonder if it's £100 deposit you paid and the 1st month line rental in advance?I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0

Thanks for the replies. The deposit was originally £169.99 but they took 50 off as I didn't need international calls. I will see what the online account says once the dd has cleared.0

As Simax has said, the 19.99 is the first payment, the deposit was £150 reduced to £100 without international calling.====0
