Can a 3.5watt LED kitchen bulb, replace a 5watt one (without problems) ??

Kitchen LED light bulbs gone, original is taken out and says 5watt.
We saw some new ones online, and some are the same shame, and 'type' but the wattage is 3.5watt (not 5watt) as on the original.
Will using the 3.5 watt one be fine, for the kitchen?
Here is the type:

It will work but a 3.5 w bulb will be significantly dimmer. Why not just buy another 5w bulb?0

(which is what our current ones have been doing)
This 3.5w one has few negatives, so thought we would try it.0 -
So go to a proper bulb supplier, not Amazon! Try LedHut (or there are others). If you just buy cheap crap then is there any wonder it stops working? I may be biased as an electrician but I've fitted many hundreds of DECENT LED bulbs over the last 4-5 years and not had any fail yet.

Yes I can also recommend led Hut. I've used them a few times now without issue.0

I used these people: http://www.lightbulbs-direct.com/
If a bulb fails within 2 years they send you a replacement no questions asked.0 -
We used LED Hut to replace every bulb in our new house - not the cheapest thing to do all at once, but our electricity bills like it. We've had none fail (in 14 months, we expect them all to last longer than we plan to stay in this house).
Also note you can get decent cashback through quidco, and they send out vast numbers of offer codes if you give them an email address.0 -
Don't you want to know how much light comes out of the bulbs? What colour temperature they are? Whether they will burn your house down? Wattage doesn't really tell you much about light output in LEDs. Expensive new 3.5W could put out more than cheap old 5W ones, but without specs it's impossible to know.
You can replace those old lights with any GU10 fitting.0 -
LEDHut........3 or 5 year guarantee,,,,,,
Keep you receipt. The bulbs actually have a date on them !!0 -

What were the lumens, colour temperature and CRI of the previous spot, then compare that to spec of new Spot.
If the companies don't publish lumen, colour temperature and CRI figures, run for the hills0 -
Is it a gu10 fitting or MR fitting. If it's gu10 there 240v and you use a lower wattage fitting, use just can't exceed the fitting rating.
If it's on of the MR fitting then it's 12v fitting and has a transformer of some description which had a minimum load rating.0
