Our wills are already written with the attached codicils but what I am saying is they are in my safe in the house and the plod or who ever has to break in will not know where they are or their existance.
How can I make them aware and or take any notice?
If you and your wife both have mobiles in the contacts list make an ICE entry, stands for In Case of Emergency. The police are clued up these days and look around the property for a mobile phone when they find a dead body after breaking in......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Use a 'message in a bottle'...
http://lionsclubs.co/lions-message-in-a-bottle/
Put the contact details for the animals' intended carers so that they can be called.
Also let a neighbour know the details as well so that they can help pass the message on if necessary.0 -
Leave some money to the Cinnamon Trust and ask that they rehome your pets.Signature removed for peace of mind0

A thought: You can buy collar tags that will hold a tiny scroll containing a message and could refer a finder to this by mentioning it on the back of a normal id disk.
Anyone finding the dog would see the tag and disk when attaching a lead to remove him or her.0 -

Have you told you family/friends and neighbours that if such an event occurred what your wishes are? as your next of kin is the first to be told of your deaths.
If you have no next of kin a solicitor?
Also you could both wear those medical necklaces that alert the services and instead of it saying you have a condition it could make them aware you have pets and who to contact in an emergency0 -

Yes we can and do all that but there is no guarantee plod have any sense to read it - they are only out for the easy option0 -

Perfectly said! But what you perhaps don't know is that Cinnamon Trust will send a card to you which you put on the mantle piece with a phone number to call in the event of both your deaths. CT will get one of their volunteers to quickly come and get your pets pending the pre-arranged person coming to get them. By the way, it's a wonderful little charity and their newsletters are lovely.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

Another charity that looks after your dogs best interests if anything happens is the Dogs trust canine card scheme.

Dont forget having a dogs trust membership £25 per year ( £12.50 for over 60's) entitles you to 3rd party public liability insurance as well as other benefits.0
