Mike,
I don't think there are - well not that I can find.
I reckon someone on this site might have a better idea, so you should ask one of the regular posters probably.
Hope that's OK mate.

Mike,
I found these two which might interest you:

http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/rafcomp_1506.shtml
I think you have to sign up for the first one, but the second one is just a question of finding the answer on the web.
I hope that is of some help!

Exciting but a bit scary, so depends if you like that kind of thrill.lisyloo...what was the helicopter flying like?...
I guess a lot of people do otherwise we wouldn't have theme parks and scary films.
I think mine came in a box from Boots (or somewhere like that) and I think it cost about £130. It is a bit cheaper if you book direct with a flying club at your local airport. There is always a markup on these boxed experiences.is it worth trying even if i don't win that prize?...was it expensive?
It's quite short as 30 minutes includes the start up time and some explanation.
You don't get to enjoy the views as much when you are concentrating (very hard) on flying it, so if you want an enjoyable experience with views then pay for a ride and not a lesson. In some places you can get these more cheaper for 15 mins. I would definitely say it's worth try especially if you are on holiday somewhere spectacular (we did it over Niagra falls and also in Banff over some of the rockies and glaciers). You can't get those views any other way so if you have the money then I would say it's definitely a worthwhile experience.
I am pretty sure there would be a prize as they'd be breaking laws if there weren't although you have to be realistic that businesses run these competitions for business reasons.do you think that there is actually a prize...or do you think they just use it to get our emails?
Personally I only enter for things I really want and tick all the privacy boxes. I don't get too much spam that way.
If you really wnt to do one but can't afford it then why not ask for money for birthday/xmas presents and save up?0 -
Thanks for the essay lisyloo!!!...a conclusive reply, if i ever saw one!...i'll look into inding somewhere local to give it a go - if i don't win any of the comps...it's not the end of the world, but i've always wanted to do it and would really enjoy it, so i'll have to pluck up the courage!....and yes, asking for a present is a good idea...i'll keep that on th eback burner til xmas!!...mike0

That was a wonderful answer lisyloo - you may be a mad maverick money saving maniac but you certainly know how to write a reply in the forum!!!
Just to say, Mike I think that one of those comps is already out of date, so just check when you enter.
Hope all's good,

My mate says that you can enquire at Wolverhampton Airport Flight Centre about flying lessons in the Midlands:
