Tuesday 23rd June - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free!

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending!

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

Morning all, thanks ziggy for starting us all off.

Ducks and geese and chucks enjoying the sunshine. Quacks all round.
Hung my first lot of washing on my new twirly whirly. Currently in the shade, it was like a meeting of the UN to get DH to put it up somewhere, debate has gone on since April. So the fact it is up, albeit in morning shade is a real result. Will be OK after 11, but then in shade again after 4!!!

Swimming bag packed for next swim. Thinking positive.
    Lunch bag packed.
So should be a NSD unless I swim.
Yesterday found DD lost new passport. Saving £72 for another replacement, Posting recorded to her with a new cq bk today. So all good. She also has a good summer job starting monday so she is solvent for next 10 weeks.

After my meltdown yesterday, today is going to be a good positive one.

Have a good MSE day all.

    Maria.

i think i need to slink back in here.

Im heading in the wrong direction again. To easy to get a coffee here and buy chocolate there. My clothes spend has increased as well as other unnecessaries.

    Today i have

    1) Rearranged the months budget.
    2) bumped my for sale posts
    3) sorted a list of birthdays for this year and looked at card stash - noted the new cards ill need and a list of people who need presents (mostly kids).
    4) written a list of uniform the kids need for september.

Im hoping to do the following -

    5) tidy shed to find the airer i bought 2 years ago to get it in the garden.
    6) find and list atleast 5 things to sell.
    7) look at possibly changing gas & elec provider

  • Hi Everyone,

    - NSD for me
    - All meals from stores
    - Mountains of work to do at work as I had a long weekend on leave and went to the lovely wedding of some lovely friends :j
    - Cineworld unlimited tonight seeing the original Terminator film :p
    - Rang my car insurance provider to see what my renewal quote will be next month. They can't provide me with it until 1st July which is really annoying as I wanted to work out next month's budget!
    - Work still haven't paid me some expenses I submitted 3 weeks ago either
    - Surveys and FPL still to do
    - STILL need to take photos of some furniture I want to sell - will definitely do that this week
    - My ebay listings haven't sold so really need to put a date in the diary for doing a car boot - will have to be the weekend after next as we're off camping for a couple of nights - love it!

Afternoon all and thanks Ziggy for the start.

I've not really achieved anything today, energy really low again at the minute.

    I have so far...
went to the gym and filled water bottle there.
Done a few surveys on sb
Swagbucks - currently running the apps
Had email with cashback on so put codes into amaz0n
Had a reply from M&S after I sent an email complaint about a potato gratin I had at the weekend. They're going to send £3 e card through in the next couple of days :)
    Deleted/unsubscribed from junk emails

    Still to do
    Check bank/update spreadsheet
    Clear round kitchen
    Make sure upstairs is tidy
    Hoover living room
Get kids swimming stuff ready for straight after school.
Following :money: to keep us debt free :j
