Need to upgrade from an iphone 4 which with the new firmware for ios, is basically unusable. Trying to avoid phoes that will degrade into this state however we can all agree it's a very old phone. Nevertheless I need to upgrade so what would you guys recommend that's budget, solid performance for under £200 that has got a few years of life left on it. Thanks!

one plus one springs to mind, last years top end specs for minimum cash, they are not faultless phones, so might be worth having a read on some of the issues some people have had, but then again thats the same with pretty much any phone you buy as each has there own issuesDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
Might it be the apps you choose that "age" your phone? My 4 is still doing a sterling job but it "can't be doing with" some app updates...0

A recent thread: budget smartphone recommendation0

Budget is a bit of a blanket term now. In android there are now budget phones at the top end (e.g. LG G3 or a Z1C - both still good phones) mid range phones plus a good variety of bottom end phones.
Phones like Moto E, Moto G and Nexus 5 are probably the best bet for vanilla android and support. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Not a phone I would recommend to a non techie person, too many issues, not fully compatible with all UK networks, very poor customer service and (unless things have changed recently) the handset having to be returned to China for service at your own expense, even for quality issues like the batches with yellow tinted screens.
Not to mention the horrendously sexist advertisement campaigns like allowing pretty girls to jump the waiting list if they would draw the o+o logo on "parts of their bodies" and upload the images to the onePlus One official forum for the boys to judge...
The phone was quite unique last year, but many other Chinese makers have made similar spec phones with better QC and customer service this year.====0
