O2 to T-Mobile porting schedule?
Hello,
Today is the day, according to T-Mobile that my number will be ported from O2 (and what a happy day it is too ) but I was just wondering about the actual schedule for the port?
What can I expect to happen and do I have to do anything? Would it be possible for me to accidentally block the port without meaning to? I know that sometimes updates to network service require that you switch the phone on and off again for the SIM to recaliberate. I've got both T-Mobile and O2 phones on at the moment, but do I need to switch them off for the port to take effect?
Sorry if this is all very basic, but last time I ported a number I was abroad with roaming disabled so I didn't notice anything happening day to day.
And what time does the port occur? Is it just one central system that, at some pre-defined time, sends all the port requests for all the networks across to their destinations and it just 'happens' that the temporary number dies and the new one takes effect?
And what if I'm in a call when it happens? And how long does it take for my T-Mobile account to reflect the fact that I have a new number (all account activity currently uses the temp number as the reference).
I don't know why I'm so excited, but it's like some major milestone taking place that must go exactly to plan otherwise bad things might happen

My questions about the porting still remain, but now I'll probably be porting next week. the PAC had expied by the time it was logged on the system so had to request another.
