Thank you for all the replies, am I being dense, I took the point 5.2.2. to mean that we lose deposit (90) and flight costs plus amount levied by supplier and then the additional 150 pounds am I reading this wrong

I don't think that's the case here - the t&c mention whatever the tour supplier charges plus an additional on the beach fee. I had to read it a couple of times but I interpreted it the same as the OP in the end. It goes on to say
5.5 Cancellation and Amendment Charges
5.5.1 Travel Supplier's charge + £30.00 per person (if 28 days or more before departure)
5.5.2 Travel Supplier's charge + £150.00 per booking (if within 28 days of departure)
5.5.3 In flight extra requests after booking confirmed: Travel Supplier's charge + £30.00 per request.
Edit - is there anything in the "manage your booking" section where you could amend the lead passengers name online? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I interpret it as this:
If you cancel you get back everything you have paid, MINUS the following:
1. The deposit.
2. OTB's own cancellation fee which is £30pp or £150 per booking depending on if it's +/- 28 days to departure.
3. Any cancellation fees charged by the suppliers (for the flights, this might be the whole cost of the flights if it's less than 28 days to go).
After you take the amount you've paid, and take off the amounts I just said, there might be no money left. In which case you don't get anything back, but they won't try to take more money off you.0 -
If there were no charge that would be amazing, I have looked at the booking amendments and there is no where to amend the lead name, I have emailed them, but the last time it took them 11 days to reply. I really do appreciate your replies, I feel so much better already, thank you so much0

The £150 is in effect a Penalty. In English law this is not enforceable as I very much doubt they could demonstrate that this is a genuine pre-estimate of their likely loss. Basically it is a try on.
Get on Facebook and Twitter and shame them to coming back with a realistic and sensible way forward. Bad publicity always worries companies.0 -
May not worry OTB they seem to get a lot of itThe £150 is in effect a Penalty. In English law this is not enforceable as I very much doubt they could demonstrate that this is a genuine pre-estimate of their likely loss. Basically it is a try on.

I'd agree with SideFX she just doesn't turn up on the day cos she's ill.
I wouldn't bother trying to contact otb again, you have done your besttravelover0 -
OnTheBeach aren't a package holiday provider. They sell flights with lowcost/scheduled airlines and then add on hotels and transfers to match. But all elements are still technically separate.
They'll have no problem with the flight. The airlines don't really care who turns up and who doesn't. The rest of the party will have no issue. (Depending on the airline they may need to check in online in advance, again still not an issue. Your daughter could even do this and still not turn up).
The hotel may be an issue as it will have a lead passenger named on the voucher and they usually take passports on check in. That said, in reality I'm not sure the foreign hotelier would have a problem as long as they have the accommodation voucher. As others said just spin the line "too ill to travel".
Doubt transfers would be an issue either.0
