Basically, there are no free licences for folks who don't have Windows 7 or 8, unless you want to keep using pre-release versions of Windows 10.
Oh dear. So all the media coverage about "Win 10 for Free" was wrong. Unless you always want to be installing prerelease beta software on your PC.poppy100 -
well its free , if you have a licenced copy of win 7 or 8 , what is annoying to my thousands of people around the globe , is that they have been "test dummies" for Microsoft , testing out the win 10 package , often struggling and wasting time
They were promised that when win 10 was finished , they would be rewarded , as a thank you , with the final version.
Microsoft have gone back on there word , said NO , but you can continue to use the latest test copy , and we have the right to alter/change or do what we like , even down to non boot and a new iso to load.
If this latest news is true , I am not a happy bunny ,0 -

however I envisage a windows toolkit freely available , by about august , about the same time it took for our Russian/chineeze/Korean friends to perfect the win 7 and then the win 8 one0

The pre-release version will propably be more stable than the release version anyway.
It happened that way with XP, I was using the pre-release version of XP long after they released it properly.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I have the preview 10 running on the new intel nuc 513 (broadwell i3 5010u cpu) , with one of those M.2 hard drives and 16 g of memory , bloody quick , I mean win 10 is a lot quicker than win 8 , also uses less space. , half fixed the vid card bug , but seeing as this will be the new cpu for laptops with win 10 in the next few mths , intel are leaving the driver very late ,
classic shell works good , and they have fixed the probs with google toolbar0 -

Umm, they were never promised that. Not until the last couple of weeks anyway. Until then there was no promise or even expectation that beta testers would get the final version for free - it came as a complete surprise when they first started saying that a couple of weeks agopoppy100 -
and then changed back to "no you can,t have it free" , why not offer a discounted copy to people that were doing free work for them ? , like they did win win 7 or win 8?0
