Cancelling my o2 contract

When you phone up to cancel or ask for your PAC the person you speak to will ask why you want to cancel. They'll then offer you a deal of some sort. If you refuse that you'll be put through to customer retentions who will then offer you a bit more (depends on what you've been spending). You can then accept that deal, or umm and ahh and go away to think about it then come back saying it's not good enough, or say you still want to leave. It's always good to have a few rival network's deals to hand to mention (eg "Orange are offering x mins and x texts for £x oer month so I'm thinking of going there").If this has been of any use please click on THANKS, it makes me look good.0

Thanks but they said I had to put my request in writing and they won't discuss an upgrade until next Tuesday, the day they want my cancellation.
I am confused.

Can you give an idea of what you have now and what you're looking for? If you have some milestone in mind you can work towards it and possibly negotiate.
For me leaving O2 was an easy decision - their data charges are appaulling and they have no proper data package, customer services attitude always left me feeling stupid and unworthy of their notice, their online web portal thing never worked and was very inaccessible (it's even been named as the most inaccessible site in a poll) and the amount of account customization and analysis you can do yourself is very limited. Oh and they don't support message delivery reports via handset select, just to add to it. Now with T-Mobile and it's like I'm seeing the full potential of what I can do with a mobile phone for the first time.
