Photoshop Free Download or similar

Options
Please could someone give me a link to a safe free download of Photoshop? I have looked at a few sites and am always wary of clicking any Download button, having fallen foul of a dodgy download in the past.

Many thanks.

OR is there some other good, not too complicated photo editing software for basic task?

Both 'Gimp' and 'Paint.net' can use Photoshop plugins and are both free. Use them myself so know they are good.

For quick resizing and cropping of images for the likes of ebay, ebid and gumtree, Pain.net works best as it is quick to load.

If it's just basic stuff, Photoshop offer a free online service.

So is the free download just a 30 day trial? If so, I need to look at the other options suggested.

    Gimp is horrible but powerful.

    Paint.net is nice but limited.

Photoshop Express is pretty good for photo enhancement.

Pixlr Editor is a nice web app similar to paint.net

No. Adobe made the installers available to download after they closed the registration server, but it's strictly for people who already had a CS2 license and need to reinstall.

I will agree about the Gimp. You do have to remember though that originally, the Gimp was designed purely to batch-apply PS effects to loads of images at once due to PS not having this ability.

Over the years, it has been worked-on by a whole load of contributors.
It is now about 60% of the way through a re-write to make it faster, smoother and more user-friendly. It will also incorporate code that will make use of a graphics card's 3D GPU to carry out the calculations needed when applying effects.

Yes, that page talks about it being free to download, but the Adobe page it links to says that only people who legitimately purchased it are allowed to use the download and serial number provided.
