Want to buy Chevrolet Cruze 1.6 LT Auto- advice please!
Hi, I've eyed a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze 2012 1.6 .LT automatic
Don't anticipate driving more than 2500 miles per annum. Mainly local, shopping centres, nursery etc.
I know Chevrolets are not so popular in the UK and will shortly stop selling new cars in the UK, but I've driven a few abroad as rentals and Went on a test drive today- it was basic but solid.
Any downside buying it?
With an AA warranty, I'm looking at £6300 from a dealer.
Thank you!

Yes, there are downsides :-
Snow off a ditch depreciation
Average at best driving dynamics
Not easy on fuel
Hard on the eye
Primitive mechanicals and running gear
No long term support
Buy a Ford Focus - heres one with a decent spec, a year older but for less...

OR, a new model Focus of the same age for just a bit more

Probably various Astras about too for similar or less.0 -
Also, you're being stiffed royally at £6,300
Heres a 2012 one with just 19,000 miles, FSH and warranty for £4995. I'd say that car could be bought for a fraction over £4,500

Is this the same car that was on offer at about £8000 brand new about a year ago, if so that seems very expensive0

The downside is as mentioned its £1300 overpriced, Poor resale values. Not exacty in demand.
Plenty around for closer to £5000 and you should be able to haggle that down a bit.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

If the O/Ps budget is £6000+ anyway, i'd rather have a Focus or Astra, than a Cruze even at £5K. I dont think the Cruze is a good buy.0 -
lol at suggesting focus/astra , chevrolet in europe is the same Opel/vauxhall but lets just say they have even worse quality than vauxhalls
Get something decent like a honda jazz in that budget0 -

Are you troll or just ill informed?
Seriously catch a grip. No they're not. Not even close. Different cars entirely. These Chevrolets are the company that was previously Daewoo.
Also, a Jazz is nowhere near the size of a Cruze or a Focus, and is considerably more expensive.0 -
True- the jazz inside is much larger and more practical than both of them
also Check again, some of the chevrolet Models including that one actually IS made by opel.
I would walk away from even the idea of owning that POS car to be honest , but than again if you can get it cheap enough and still get the warranty- cos you WILL need it than maybe. but def not at over 6grands!0 -

The Chevvy Cruze is a Daewoo Lacetti.
As post number 6 though a Focus all day long over the Cruze, GULP!! even an astra and i hate those with a passion but would still buy one of those over a Cruze.
Give me a 3 year old cruze for £1k and i maybe persuaded.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
