I think I'll just go with the encrypted backup then. I'm quite lazy so would rather just go from one iOS to another with all what is my phone currently.
So, I currently have 1.5gb of space available so need to free up another 2. After the update, any idea what I'll have left? 1? 0.5? How much bigger than 6 is 8?0 -

If you are updating through iTunes there is no need for having all the available space, the unpacking of the update file is done on your PC.====0
