in Water bills
Hi All, I have been contacted by renewableenergiescentre in swansea, they have said that they can guarantee to get me a new boiler for free, plus reduce my water bills?
They want £399 upfront to do the work but say that is a refundable deposit.
I have done a quick look on the website rec-homeaudits.co.uk and to say the least it is riddled with spelling mistakes which worries me, they are due to call back on wednesday for the payment has anyone had any dealings with them before?

If it's free why do they want a deposit? That doesn't make sense.
Tell them you are quite willing to pay 100% up front.0 -

The domain was only registered in March of this year to an individual in Swansea, so it appears to be a new company, although nothing particularly wrong with that. They've all got to start somewhere...
Ask them for references and follow them up in detail. Personally, I'd still be very wary though.
Edit:
"Renewable Energies Centre" is at the same address in Swansea. It was established on June 2014. Are they rebranding themselves as REC Home Audit, or is that a new "branch" of the same organisation?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. If you look in the T&Cs they say that they are Renewable Energies Centre trading as REC. They aren't hiding it. However, their website doesn't tell much else. No prices mentioned at all. I'd just steer clear.0

Don't touch them with a barge pole, it's a scam, I paid the money and they haven't refunded it since I cancelled on 29th June! Bridgend Police have had a lot of calls about them, hope this helps.0
