Re: Child Care Vouchers - No Clue?!!

Options
Hi There,

I have read the thread on childcare vouchers and been given a new job with an employer that provides them.
I do however not understand how they work, how much I loose or anything at all...The whole thing baffles me!!!
My nursery bill will be £250 pm as I intend working nights. I was hoping to put all of it towards the vouchers to pay for it but I really don't understand the scheme..Any tips?! We are not eligable for tax credits. TIA:beer:

The maximum you can claim per month in vouchers is £243 (this is dependent on your salary). This would be deducted monthly from your gross salary and paid into your childcare voucher account.
The benefit of this is that you don't pay tax or NI on this amount. You also don't miss it as it is taken straight out your salary if you see what I mean. Because it is taken before tax and NI it also means that you pay a little less tax and NI each month than you otherwise would.

    Hope that this is helpful
