Superdrug shops usually have a 3 store within them and have been known to give out free sims...could be worth trying them?

Not according to their website. They offer good incentives for using it especially to receive calls.

Did you have any luck? I went to a 3 store today and they just said a payg sim would cost £10 with the same loaded as credit.

Just noticed that you can buy a sim card for 99p on ebay. I take it that these would be okay to then transfer a number to it in which case 3 give you £10 credit or if anyone phones you then you get 5p credit per minute. Worth it try the network first before deciding whether to go on a contract with them.

Thanks for that espresso. I do myself but many of our viewing public ;) may not be aware of this.

If you want to know what 3 reception is like in your area try a orange simcard as they use their network. As for payg if you top up £25 you can turn it into 500mins which is a very good deal

This will not tell you what 3 coverage is like in your area because 3 actually use Orange as a fall back network, for areas where the 3 signal is insufficient.
