    I know I need to clone but what is best, simplest and FREE tool to do this

    thanks for tutorial but that's for windows 8 and I have vista
    Im now a mum of 4 children. but dont know how to change my username.lol

    Try the video I just posted, even though he transfers from HDD to SSD the procedure is the same since SSD is just another drive. He uses Macrium (I used this) which is free.

    Just install macrium and drag all the partitions to the new drive. No need to resize like he does in the video since your new drive is bigger than the old one. After it is completed remember to change the bios to boot from the new drive as shown in the video.

    Does not matter if you have vista as long as you can install macrium.

    ok , you have got a few problems (vista) I CANNOT believe the drive (empty) is only 40g , and with vista loaded it shows 38g free , so at this point I,m struggling to help


    I would suggest that its more than 5 yrs old , please tell us the make and model

    She didn't say it was 38gb free fella - she said it was 38gb available. she hasn't said what used/free space is.
