Thanks foxy11! Knew someone on here could tell me.

My Imac is now all up and runing how i want it, macbook is very close but I have discovered I have the same battery problem as normal does! The guy at Toys R Us took all my details to register them so i am going to try and ring Applecare tonight with the details to see if I can get a new battery too.

Was it just a case of them posting one out to you?

make that three on the macbook battery issue!! I got a macbook from Hull Toysrus and the battery doesn't register! ABout to call applecare. i wonder if we all get a 1 year warranty?

When i bought a 17" iMac from toysrus dundee, i had to sign s form saying that it has no warrenty and that if there was any issues i was only eligible for refund. But when a family member bought macbook in Hull, there was no mention of this.....

spoke to applecare, they said i'm fully eligible for 1 year warranty starting from date of purchase. I didn't mention the ex-display part:wink: took the duff battery to an authorized service people and they have ordered me a new battery and said that it's fine for 1 year warranty!

I took it to my local Apple store and they did it on the spot for me.

I've sorted my battery issue now and i must say i am very impressed with Apple's service!

I had to email a scanned copy of receipt for them to update the date of purchase and activate the 1 yr warranty (i also decided not to mention it was an ex-demo). Had an email response within 12 hours to say it had been successfully updated. Rang Applecare again and they posted me a new battery via UPS to my work address. He said it would take 3-5 days but it arrived the next morning.

Just got to return the faulty battery back in the same UPS box to avoid being charged for the new one.

I may have to force myself to buy an ipod now that i have uploaded my entire cd collection onto itunes. I thought this was a moneysaving site!!!:rotfl:

I must admit I've been very impressed with Apple's Customer Service too which is now making me think of going completely mac as things need replacing. I know they normally cost more than PCs, but the service seems worth it imo.
