For a huge, healthy and slimming breakfast, I make mine with 1oz oats, made with milk & water, (1/2 each), no sugar or salt, in large bowl in microwave. Cook for 2 mins, cool slightly, stir in a Muller Light flavoured yoghurt (your choice) then add chopped fresh fruit (quantity/variety to your own taste/seasonal). At the moment I'm having plum, nectarine, strawberries or raspberries and apple or banana.
Very yummy and fills you up all morning!"It is always the best policy to speak the truth-unless, of course, you are an exceptionally good liar." - Jerome K Jerome0 -
Hi, I make mine with mostly milk but a touch of water too (i use either skimmed milk or soyal milk) but my favourite topping is flaked almonds and honey - I once read that this is the best breakfast for 'lifiting the mood' and I can usually do with this first thing in the morning as I don't always feel :j
It's also the only breakfast (apart from a full English) that keeps me going till at least late morning!Jun GC £250.00/£12.40 NSD 3 / 30

i always make porridge with just water. I like maple syrup on mine, but I like some of the ideas here. Might try some with salt I never have but think I might like it as I only like popcorn with salt on.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

I have to confess to absolutely hating porridge (comes from a detox when I ate millet porridge every day
) but my OH has porridge made from water every morning with crushed seeds and sugar free jam (yummy)
Actually if I tried some of the toppings suggested above I might like it :j2025 - Declutter to Move House

I love porridge with pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds stirred through with some honey.
I bought some Goji berries that were heavily reduced (from about £2.69 to 99p) and they add a nice twist to the flavour.
dried fruit is good too when mixed with a small drop of honey."Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

I always soak whatever type of porridge flakes I'm using overnight in the liquid (milk in my case) - as I gather it helps with getting all the goodness from your food. Incidentally, it makes for a better texture as well.
I also like trying different types of porridge - my favourite would be 50/50 jumbo oats and rice flakes.
Then - of course - add various bits when I've made it - like fruit of various descriptions and/or yogurt and/or seeds.0
