HR advised I would know in about a week but I'm sure she forgot about the holiday period over here.

Oh Choyaa, stop making excuses for the deplorable manned company, in Customer Services you would never get away with it, why should you in HR? - they could have contacted you still on or just before the intended be 'back to you' date letting you know they were at the very least still considering

In my experience it is never a good sign to have someone still deciding (one employer took 3 weeks to tell me about the decision and then one week into the job dropped the bombshell he had spent so long mulling it over, he had CV's mixed up, never a good position to be in, my intended role had also changed in those 3 weeks... which is why I would be quite concerned for you, promise me if you get the job you won't be that quick to accept x

I can't understand why they would do this, if I do get rejected it is in an unnecessarily cruel way.

Not at all - just frustrated that they are taking so long to make their decision!

Still no update, it seems most companies over here are off this week so that may have impacted me.

I'll go out on a limb and say it looks good, I think Choyaa would know if she wasn't successful by now.

In fairness, I've had interviews that have gone REALLY well and I've waited and waited making excuses only to be told no.

    so yeah...
