I live in Tranmere park and can highly recommend. Guiseley has a train station.
For city centre a friend lived in cypress point city centre for three years whilst on an NHS course.
A good friend of mine who's a nurse lived in thornhills road ls6, kirkstall then grove court headingley, it looks awful as very 60s but the flat was modern spacious inside she was there happily for four years.HOME

This site may give you some ideas about flatshares in Leeds for nurses

You now know why Leeds Building Society dropped Holbeck from their name!
Another few more places to avoid
Little London
Cross Green - I did a week's temping at a place in a small industrial estate and so glad it was just for a week.
When I worked at cross green, the offices were between a Popcorn factory and the sewage processing plant. Made for some interesting aromas. Used to be an awesome greasy spoon in little london they did the best bacon sandwiches ever.
OP Might be worth trying the Hospital, as I think LGI still has some nursing accommodation blocks up in Cookridge.0 -
I thought the whole Cookridge site had now been sold off to a housing devlope - might be wrong.
Once the OP has a confirmed contract they should have access to the Trust's intranet which I'm fairly certain has a staff accommodation page for staff looking for flatshares / flats etc......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Thanks so much for this!!
I contacted somebody at the HR department at the hospital. Unfortunatley they wouldn't allow an advert to go up until I was a signed up employee - catch 22.0 -

Not sure I haven't been up in daylight for a while, I used to place our IT grads in the nursing block, which worked fine, until I placed a young french guy there.
Not my best move to house a handsome, charming & horny 19yr old and surrounding him with student nurses..

This message board is amazing. The advice is top notch! So nervous about moving - it is finding accomodation that is my biggest worry - hopefully once it's done I will be starting a whole new life and career.
Thanks all.0 -
The Leeds Dock Area is central to both sites St james and Leeds General Infirmary and both are walk able from those flats at about 10 minutes each site
Its quiet and quite a nice out of town area thats only a couple of minutes walk in to town.
What the rent extra is will save travelling in as you can walk to both Hospitals without having to go through any real bad areas as well.
