Are you a comp winning super star?

Hello!

I'm looking for someone who has won BIG in comping to share their top tips with me for a story for a national newspaper online.

Please let me know if you're interested.

It would just involve a quick chat on the phone.

Many thanks,
Tara

[STRIKE]Ooh yes! I'll let you listen to me, then twist my words and print some absolute twaddle about how I make a living and win thousands of pounds with very little effort from entering a "few" competitions each month.

Then we'll see yet another influx of people wanting this too, constantly asking "how long do I have to wait to win?", or "how do I win the big one?" while we roll our eyes and try and answer in the sweetest possible way for the umpteenth time!!![/STRIKE]

Actually, changed my mind. Not interested thanks :D

[STRIKE]Yes please choose me so I can tell you of all the wonderful things I have won over the past years, so you can twist my words and then I can read at all the nasty comments left by other people saying I am a sponger and other nasty things like all the previous newspaper articles about "compers"[/STRIKE]

Er, then again ... NO thanks ;)

As for tips .... you enter, you forget
Comping is a HOBBY - not a "get rich quick" scheme, which you glorified journalists seem to think so

  • Come on guys, play nice :)

Tara is ex-MSE so knows a lot more than most journalists about comping. She's just trying to give someone a chance to show off their skills!

    That was being nice ;)

There is no skill required for most comps though! Unless you happen to be really good at filling in a form :o

As we have seen many a time of this forum, this "articles" do no good to the comping community. Those who read it blasts those who do them, I've seen some vile things being said about members on here!

You'll get someone though, I'm sure.
    Thanks to all posters :A
  • Hmm, agreed! But the new compers that it bring in are often quieter than those that berate everyone for doing it!

Also, the more people are taking part in comping, the more companies want to offer comps :)

    Quite the opposite actually
There are less competitions now then there used to be

I would like to know where you get your info from regarding your statement

My best skill is being ambidextrous in being able to click the button for Roboform to fill in my details on the form with either my left finger or my right finger... as Jaibaby has said above, their is no skill involved in entering a competition when all you do is fill in your name/email on a form and press enter.

I have won nicely into five figures worth of prizes including wins from ITV, MTV and C4 but with most of them it was simply luck of the draw and not "skill".
If you have unlimited time then entering every competition you can find will increase your chances of winning - if time or inclination is limited then (apart from the obvious big ones) it's about being selective in what you enter and going for those which offer the best chance to win prizes you want.

There isn't really any skill involved in comping unless she wants to look at the effort side of things such as the creative competitions - carving pumpkins etc. That won't make as good a story though if people have to put the effort in to win.
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx
