Upgrading to windows 10-will it be possible to make an iso image?

Hi folks,
I have 2 installations of windows (oem) on my computer and intend to update one of them to windows 10 when it comes out.
1 Will I be able to to make an iso image of windows 10 after I download it through windows update I wonder, to make it more convenient than using windows update again if reinstalling the whole OS?
2 Since the two windows 7 I currently have is the same genuine product key and run on on two different partitions quite happily, do you think if I upgrade one of them to windows 10, I could leave the other windows 7 the way it is and both OS will run ok. I take it that Microsoft will still have the option to revert to windows 7 from windows 10 hence the above question.
3 Since windows 10 is only free for first year, if a person who has upgraded a windows 7 within the first year then decides to do a complete reinstall of windows after a year, will windows 10 be chargeable then?
Sorry for all the questions probably all the answers are not clear at the moment but might affect other users too.
Thanks John

I think OP is referring to whether the 7-10 upgrade would still be free in more than a year's time. (I'm presuming OP is talking about reinstalling a PC via a recovery partition or similar).0 -
do you think if I upgrade one of them [2 identical W7 installs on 2 partitions] to windows 10, I could leave the other windows 7 the way it is and both OS will run ok. Lots of guesses until end July. e.g.
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-win_upgrade/can-i-reinstall-windows-10-once-i-upgrade/c50ad32d-08a5-4273-a941-c353e43a5056If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0 -
What you probably should do is create a full system backup including restore disk the day before july 29th.
We are not sure what the initial download will be like (a single executable file or multiple files with a upgrade.exe program) but hopefully it will be downloaded to a location of your choice, then you can save those files to an external drive, before running the upgrade program.Laters

1. Not via Windows update, but there will probably be a ISO available, or you may have to call or go online to order one as there will be people with low bandwidth connections.
2. See http://www.microsoft.com/oem/en/licensing/sblicensing/pages/licensing_faq.aspx
OEM software only allows one install, the first system you have is genuine, the 2nd install (even though its on the same hardware) would be considered non genuine.
3. As long as you take the upgrade in the first year then you an re-install for free after the year is over.

Thanks a lot for all replies folks I really appreciate it
I use Acronis home 2010 to make backups of windows 7 on a frequent basis (works fine so far though my version of acronis is getting long in the tooth now, not compatible with windows 8 though)
So if I upgrade one of my windows 7 to windows 10, then decide I don't like 10 for some reason if I reinstall my acronis backup of windows 7 will it still show as genuine I wonder, OEM got with computer in early 2010? or as stated in an earlier reply quoted above?
Thanks yet again

You stated that both machines used the same key.0 -
Thanks Nifty one computer two different partitions.
But leaving that aside I'd still like to find out as regards below?
If I don't like windows 10 and then overwrite that partition with windows 7 image backup will it still be seen as genuine (which it is now) or do I have to roll back to windows 7 from within a windows 10 installation to reactivate the windows 7 product key again?

Is it a brand name PC that came with Windows 7 preinstalled?0

Thanks Nifty one computer two different partitions.
Does not change the fact Microsoft would consider the first install genuine and the second non genuine. Will they do anything technically is another matter. If I don't like windows 10 and then overwrite that partition with windows 7 image backup will it still be seen as genuine (which it is now) or do I have to roll back to windows 7 from within a windows 10 installation to reactivate the windows 7 product key again?
It should as its as if it never happened. The unknown will be what Microsoft do with keys. When the system upgrades will it inactivate the prior OEM key for any future use, or will they do nothing. Its also possible that any particular OEM key can only be used once to upgrade, so you can only upgrade one of the installs not both.
Windows 10 is planned to be upgraded through its life, its entirely possible that Microsoft may take an approach like they do with Xbox and simply ban a system they believe to be non genuine from any future upgrades at all.
The honest answer is no-one other than Microsoft know at this point in time.0
