Well some good news at Mad Towers. Found out CC2 have stopped charging interest on my account so that will help me clear that so much more quickly. Paid £12 off the overdraft today as an extra payment - small but progress.
Start work soon and have been debating where to have my wages paid into. Was worried about my usual current account due to the outstanding balance and whether my wages would just get swallowed up. Wanted control of the money to be able to pay down the debt in the correct order. Hubby and I have a joint account with another bank so thought I would apply for a basic current account with them. Was uncertain about the result of an application due to my credit rating that is reported as poor. Anyway - sent the application and they stated they would let me know in 3-5 days so thought I would just have to fret for a bit but the response came back after a few minutes and it was approved!
Great news for me - I can now be completely in control and kick this debt's butt!

Return of a Mad Woman!
Hi all - I haven't added to this diary since January so sorry for that. to up-date you all you may remember that things were in a dire place - was waiting for a business sale to complete and to be able to get out into the world of employment.
Eventually in the middle of February the business sale went though - 10 months after the offer was made and 2.5 years after it went on the market. My jokey title of mad woman very nearly came through - so don't understand how I never cracked up completely.
That wasn't all that this year held in store for me. Having found a job that I thought was going to sort things out we parted company at the end of my three months probation. They were nearly as insolvent as me and consequently expected the impossible and bullied you into trying to produce it. I work bl@@dy hard = I've had my own business so my work ethic is right up there with the best of them but it was just never enough and was never going to be. I'll stop now as it could get libellous!!!!
Anyway one month later found a lovely new job, closer to home, better hours and nicer people. Been there four month now and feel right at home and the results of my work are coming in so am loving it.
Things in French France didn't sort themselves out completely - never did manage to sell the farmhouse but have found a tenant to rent it for 3 years. So hoping that she won't stitch us up like the last ones but sure she won't. She has even had a run in with our previous tenants so I am pretty certain she won't. The leasebacks are now behaving themselves too so I hope they stay settled for a while and give us chance to build a bit of an emergency fund for out there.
The enforced house move has worked out really well. Living in a lovely village with a nice local in staggering distance. The house is not up to much - its a hobbit house really but one day it will be shiny and new and it means apart from the mortgage we will be debt free by Christmas - PARTYYYYYY!
So to all those who have been in that bottom of the pit blackness where there seems to be absolutely no hope then PLEASE take the first step and all the baby steps from then on because it can be done xxBusiness : Landlord[STRIKE] £26k[/STRIKE] HSBC OD [STRIKE]£1225[/STRIKE]0 CC [STRIKE]£3720[/STRIKE] Suppliers [STRIKE]£1326[/STRIKE]

Just read through your diary. Well done on taking the bull by the horns. I guess it must be hard to decide that a business you put your heart into just isn't working. But good on you for making enough on the sale to sort out some more of your debts.
You have come a long way
