Holidays are great for trying out looks - only your family and strangers see you! What colours would your OH like to see you in?
I asked my OH what colour he liked on me and tbh he looked a bit scared thinking it was a trick question! :rotfl: eventually he said "pale colours like pink as they make your eyes look really blue". Ha Ha he's not daft

Ok. I've decided to tackle this a day at a time and will write it down here if no-one minds
. It will keep me motivated to keep a check on how I'm doing. My diet continues which is now really manageable to me. I consume between 1250-1500 low fat calories a day and walk 10,000 steps (about 5000 working and 5000 evening walk with Hubbie).
Day 1 targets:
Health:
- stick to recommended calories and exercise
- drink 2 litres of water
Beauty:
- de-fuzz (generous description)
- use shower gradual tan
- wear black stretch jeans with pale floral long silk blouse I found in cupboard yesterday. Also found some wedge sandals. Brighter but not too drastic.
- blow dry hair and apply some make up
- spray of perfume
- check smile.
- walk tall with shoulders back, and try to look elegant
Will return later to update!!
That's brilliant:T
I have felt like you on many occasions. I blow dried my hair yesterday into a tousled style, tiny bit of make up, fave perfume, violet nails, gold toenails, trendy earrings - all ready to play croquet:D. My OH looked at me and said "you look like you're 26". A bit of an exaggeration as I'm 62! OH is not prone to making off the cuff remarks so I was pleased to say the least.
So, keep us posted and let us know if you are down we are here for you.0 -
best thing i did was chuck out my leggings, easy to put on and stretch to fit but so not flattering.
I feel so much better in myself wearing a dress.:)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I agree. I have leggings/joggers for when doing dirty jobs like cutting the lawn etc.
I feel amazing when I wear Dresses and stockings and heels. And do my hair and makeup.

Hi! Delurked to say on Monday I went for a bra fitting. I was absolutely dreading it but the fitter was lovely, took one look at my 'seen better days' M & S number, - she didn't measure or ask what size I was wearing - and went off to find me a selection of bras to try.
She fitted them and once I selected a couple she told me in future I should buy size 36FF not 38D as I'd been wearing for the last ten years:eek::eek::eek:
The shape and comfort levels are amazing and I actually look like I have a waist again:rotfl:
And like the good Kondo girl I am, I went straight home and put the other six old bras I had in the bin:j0 -

With your diet, don't forget things like Latte or Mocha have high amount of sugar in it and many people don't know this. So also cut sugar not only fat. You will be amazed with the results

I am a naturally black coffee drinker (I think from student days when I had neither milk not sugar available, or a spoon!!!). I prefer savoury food but when I'm miserable I am a skittles fan, one after the next and the next. Wine is my greatest downfall. Not only the calories but the metabolic slowdown. And the sugar. And the alcohol
.
If I have a glass of wine I have a pint of water with it. No idea whether that helps!
What about the best fruit to have?Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0 -
If you're looking at improving your diet don't just buy "low fat", "low in sugar", etc as these normally mean "billions of chemicals".
Try instead to make as much as possible from scratch at home. I've recently changed my diet and when I look at the back of packaging now it scares the life out of me! I was having mexican the other night so went to buy some guacamole. One look at the "ingredients" and I bought an avocado, onion and tomato, I tend to go by the rule "if I don't know what it means it shouldn't go in my body".
Massive amounts of luck and I hope you find a new happy you, make sure to update us!My debt free diary
