Morning everyone.
Good luck with the job search sexymouse.
Way to go Pigpen! What a huge improvement in that room.
Pollybear- big hugs to you, hope you have some good news soon.
lil_me- how's the cooker looking? Are you pleased with it?
Dusty- we tried to look for the stars last night, but think we were too far south.
Welcome back to all returning and hello to any newbies.
This morning we have to be out the house at 8.30, not done that for a while!
Both DS and I have the dentist this morning and whilst in town I have a couple of shops to visit. Must do a list so i don't forget anything.
Didn't get the ironing done yesterday as I got bitten on the arm by something in the garden and it made my arm swell up and ache like mad. What an excuse!
Must make the best of the weather today as he rest of the week isn't looking so good, so not sure how much of the list I'll get done. Just might save it for a day when getting outside isn't so likely....it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

Hi all
No I've not deserted completely and still flying as well as I can. Been diagnosed with hyper parathyroid (sp?) which explains the extreme tiredness and depression/angst and a lot of other stuff. Off to see the consultant tomorrow pm ......
Oh and we sold the house again - and they pulled out about 4 days before we were due to exchange - no word why - just pulled out ... SOOOOOO back on the market again. We lost a whole lot on the surveys we'd had done for the place we were buying ( which we have lost now). We need the Scottish system down here!!!!! This time we aren't even looking until the place is sold - we have somewhere we can move to temporarily fortunately.
Hopefully I will be back to flying proper soon - and then watch my dust!!!! Damn but it will be good to feel even partly well again!
Need to go and hang washing out now.
Happy flappin' all !!!!!!!!!0 -
whilst the subject of mops has come up - I don't own one. But I want one!
What is the best sort ?
I've got one of those folding ones and a 'supermop', and I think the 'supermop' is slightly better. The folding one, which you pull a lever down to squeeze it in half to get the water out has the unfortunate tendency to have the fittings that hold the sponge pad onto the base fall out all the time (I've tried two like this and they both do the same). The supermop needs a special bucket with a colander type thing at the top to sqeeze the water out of the mop. Once you get used to it, it's OK, and quite light weight. You can use it to atack stubborn marks if you push it down hard and rub vigorously.
Perhaps the best way to save your back if you have to do a large floor is to do a quick sweep first, run over with a mop, and then quickly finish off any stubborn bits with a scrubby pad. I do symapathise - I remember what it was like to have to do anything bending down when heavily pregnant.
Will try to get on with something today, but as I'm off to the gym in a bit and then off to visit my mum with the sprogs, then working this evening I can't see myself getting much housework done today. Will try for fridge and then do my best tomorrow when I've got a sprog free day.
Good luck everyone, now off to do brekkies, WM and BM.

Morning all,
throwing myself into flying this week. All routine has been lost since the kids broke up, with me at work in the mornings I always come home to a bombsite. Throw in the fact I'm on my second day of not smoking I need to be busy.
Tackled utility room appliances, kitchen windows and back door yesterday with stardrops and bleach concoction = sense of immiediate satisfaction.
On the subject of mops I've broken three mop buckets in 2 years, going to invest in a decent one tomorrow.

Morning! Just popping in to get some motivation, need to get my bum in gear today. Watched some shooting stars last night with DH, things like that always make me feel very humble. Did some yesterday of the list
Boston - hugs, hope you get it under control soon, nice to see you back - I've only just snuck back in
Dusty/AnW'sMum - you both have had me weeping this morning at the shooting stars bit, hugs to you both
Poohbear - hope your dad is okay, thinking about you
Pigpen - fab improvement on the room!
Lil me hope the cooker gets delivered okay
Just had to tell DS (10 mths) as hes playing with his toys on the floor and decided to take a shine to the fire. After telling him 'no' and a couple of times, he now has decided if hes being cute he can still touch. Hes just sat waving at me now everytime I say no and has just sat shouting mum mum mum. He knows I love him to do this things and is now trying to use them to his advantage - what a monkey but very, very cute. Hes just stood watching me type and has managed to whack off the Caps button - how on earth do I get that back on??!

Good morning everyone! Have great intentions for today - planned that the Small Penguins would stay in bed late - but DD has been poorly since Friday, and hardly eating (very sore throat) so needed to get her up at 7:30 to plead with the docs for an appointment. Off soon to see someone.
So floors will have to wait till tomorrow. The kitchen floor really needs mopping, but it'll be in vain if I have the small ones around, will just sweep it today. Will do my surfaces, fridge, and cupbaord fronts.
Need to do my upstairs loo - meant to do last week, but the weather was so nice that the Call of the Garden won out :j Forecast is for rain for the week from tomorrow, so we'll be Flying like mad from then :T
Going to get DS to hoover the stairs. He needs to tidy his room, and we need to review school uniform and equipment. We're planning to go shopping as soon as DD is fit.
Someone mentioned the meteor shower? We saw it and it was fab! Bit dopey this morning, though, so need to get moving!
I have a Microfibre mop from Lakeland. It has a mop head attached with strong velcro, that pulls off and goes in the wash. You don't need any detergent (the fibres grab the dirt apparently) and I love it. Much cheaper ones are available now.
Have a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

Thank you so muchAnW'sMum I am sure he's the brightest star up there, also reading what you put, even if he doesn't remember his Dad (which I am almost sure he will) he'll still be part of him and was brought up for those few years with him in his life, that he will always have with him. Must be hard explaining when they are so little, I know what it's like with other family members so must be even harder when it's Daddy.
I know I am going to have to explain again and again over the years. The best bit though is that DS is going to be the spitting image of his Daddy by the time he is finishedHe already has the dimple and when he want's something he cocks his head to one side just like DH used to do.
Right I should get dressed and get on with some stuff around here, I MUST book the car in for warranty work this morning as I need to get it tested so that I can tax it at the end of the month. Boat load of washing to do and I am going to have to go off list and try and get the bombsite that passes as a lounge back into some sort of order!
Hugs to all and thanks for being there for me

Just a quick post so I can find this thread again later or tomorrow - I'm off to the doctors via my mums (to drop DD off) I've been awake most of the night having hot & cold sweats & now I can hardly breathe as my throat is so sore. House isn't too bad, OH & DD being away over the weekend has helped LOL.
Right, need to put washing out and then leave for mums...it's going to take a while to get there as our shortcut might still be blocked off by the police - a man was shot dead on Saturday morning and the road has been blocked off ever since!
Right, I'm going. Bye for now.Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0
