Tesco will almost certainly have an executive or chairmans complaints team which will be part of the wider customer services team.

I totally agree with your sentiments, why anything thinks they should have priority to go straight to the CEO is beyond me. That is entirely what customer services are there for and if you don't get the appropriate response you escalate through the appropriate channels until you do. Going straight to the CEO strikes me as being somewhat narcistic.

I would expect that most people would email the CEO, only after they have gone through the usual customer services/complaints avenues first, rather than it be their first point of contact. As you stated this complaint is usually dealt with by a member of the CEOs team or a senior team member who takes ownership of the issue until it is resolved. They will often have more authority when it comes to decisions about refunds, goodwill gestures, system overides etc than the main customer service representatives.

Yes, I hope you are right but you have more faith in the average human than I do!!

I emailed the CEO of Ladbrokes at 10pm last Friday, I had a personalised email back from him at 10.30pm the same day.

    That's good service

Dave Lewis will have far more important things to do than listen to a single whingeing customer.

There lies the problem with Tesco's!

When I contacted him, I had already tried, on several occasions, to use their failed complaints system. I decided I also had 'far more important things to do' then to keep saying the same thing to them endlessly with nothing getting done.
