Options
tue 16th my Lloyds club switches over to ybank for the free £150. is it possible today if I open a Lloyds classic then upgrade it to a club Lloyds once my current club account has switched and been closed. or will this also be shut down tomorrow?

Only the account number you agreed to switch will go over to YB.

Wouldn't it have made more sense to have opened the classic account BEFORE the switch and switching the classic?

it would of but I just wanted the 150 from Yorkshire bank so didn't really think about that lol
  • Good luck! I undertook the same transfer on 19th may and have recently discovered that they didn't transfer my standing orders. I've only found out when I've received letters advising my mortgage hasn't been paid not had my home insurance. My credit rating is now affected and my home wasn't actually insured for that time for default. I've had to sort it myself with no assistance from them as their staff don't know what they are doing. Main problem is that the YB switch team closes at 5pm every night and if you work you can't get to speak to them. I've booked time off work and made appointments for advisors to call me - I'm still waiting. I've emailed and messaged via Facebook - I'm still waiting. I started this process in January and it was a mess from the start. Really wish I hadn't bothered! As for the £150 I'm still waiting!!
  • Forgot to mention that they transferred it without sending me any bank card, PIN number or activation code for Internet banking- requested the latter 3 times...., still waiting!!

When you make a move like this, does the account you're moving away from get closed?

I've got a TSB Classic Plus I want to use as a source for switching, but want to keep it open for the interest.

Just open up a 2nd TSB account and switch that one instead. That's my plan anyways

Omg switches! I had an aversion to switches but did two in the past month switching two old accounts to new accounts. In both cases all my DDs transferred over but the originators saw fit to issue new DDs so now I have two of each or to put it another way all my DDs are now doubled. Never again: I'll do it myself in future and blow the incentives.

Er, for a start they switch has failed and the switcher account should cover any costs incurred.

Its up to you, but you would be 100's out of pocket by opting out.

I've never heard you problem before either. 1000's of switches have been witnessed on this forum.
