Mum and dad pay about £12 for a 240l on an as and when basis from a local firm.
I was paying a little more for an 1100l as and when, but I was in a city.Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?0 -

You are being robbed....
That's why I started using our local council Trade Waste Service.
EPA certificate £20.00 no VAT per year !!
Thank you, good Sir. I've just checked our Council scheme and we could shave a couple hundred per year off.0 -

Glad my post has been helpful.
What sort of waste do you produce that you need 2 bins ??
Look at reducing your waste ??
I used to get rid of loads & loads of cardboard boxes on Freecyle etc.
People went mad for them !!0 -

We're a licensed premises so a lot of cardboard, plastic and glass, a small amount of food, general waste (I'm sure you can imagine.) It would be very difficult to reduce our waste output unfortunately.0 -
I have an update, a local private recycling firm said I can dump my paper and cardboard at theirs for free. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Well done on locating this thread that was otherwise last posted in over 12 months ago.
So have I understood you correctly? You had a contract with Biffa that ended last day of June 2016?
And now, just 12 days later, they have already issued you a court summons for a payment that presumably wasn't even due until sometime after your contract ended/was cancelled? i.e. within the last 12 days?
Have you actually received the summons yet? If not, then you will do by the end of the week if what you say is correct.
What are their PoC?
And what is your defence going to be?
Btw, you won't see Biffa in court - they will send along their legal advocates to deal with the matter if necessary.
Or if you are on a cast iron guaranteed defence, then the court won't even call the matter to a hearing.
Sorry, I think I maybe letting reality get in the way of things again... :cool:0
