T-Mobile signal failures
I have two mobile contracts with T-Mobile one phone is mine, the other my wifes. Paying £28 per month for the two, 200 mins + 250/500Mb data. This is more than enough for our needs. Over the past few months the signal strength has diminished considerably and while on holiday near Pickering it dissappeared altogether. I could see the mobile phone mast from our lodge (I know EE use it) and on previous visits we have had no problem. Last night in my local I couldn't get a signal for data use so today decided to call into local EE shop. They advised me that they are reducing the 3g signal in preparation for the transfer to 4g. They suggested a resolution would be to move to 4g for an extra £1.50 a month and £50 one off payment, including an EE phone (its a Huwai). What? So existing customers get a reduced service but still pay the same amount every month. This can not be right. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Seems odd. Can't 3G and 4G co-exist?
AFAIK 4G is data only (at the moment) and doesn't carry voice calls.0 -

Clearly there is a mast issue locally. They are not reducing the 3G signal at all. They just want you off T-Mobile as soon as possible.
Very sharp practice....I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -
more like they are upgrading the site to 4g, but have to turn the site off to do it. they are not turning down 3g lol. typical sales scam lol0

Assuming you're out of contract, it would be cheaper to go to EE SIM only, get their £12.99 500mins, 500mb, u/l txt and they give a reduced second line for £9.99 so if nothing else you'd save some money, get same service as you get now plus 4G where available.
Maybe threatening to leave would get you an even better retention deal.
