Argos Click & Collect problem

I use RMT and have never had an issue with sizes. I send items much bigger than the prescribed rate, it is possible.
OP you are going to have to call Ebay and keep going until you get a supervisor to see what has happened.
I don't know the ins and outs, but surely somewhere on the Ebay/Argos system that shows the buyer never collected. OP you are going to have to be very proactive here.0 -
Thanks all, yeah it still says on the item page 'Item ready for collection' so it shows I never collected it. I'm on at eBay again now, will report back with any update0

Op this is the bit you need to be quoting at them and I'm afraid it is ambiguous as it doesn't specifically state who is liable AFTER it's been dispatched to the seller [by Argos].
http://sellercentre.ebay.co.uk/terms-and-conditions-click-collect-argoseBay is not liable for the loss or damage of any item until it has been received at the designated Argos store and scanned into the Argos system. eBay is only liable for the item until collected by the buyer, or until the returned item is dispatched to the seller. Please refer to the terms and conditions of carriage with your carrier if an item is lost or damaged in transit. eBay is not liable for the acts or omissions of a carrier. eBay’s maximum liability under these Terms is that set out in the User Agreement.
Just keep reiterating that you didn't collect it, therefore under their own policy they are liable and you are not. The wording is grossly inadequate and you need to make them see you haven't collected.0 -

Take screenshots and keep them should you need to take this further legally.0 -
Was there any update on this OP? It may help other people in a similar situation in the future if they can know what happened and what you did to facilitate that.0

Hi again, I took it to a manager at eBay, finally got an email back from them saying sorry that this happened and I received a refund almost straight after the email was received so I'm happy with that, they said it happened because Argos didn't deliver the item on time back to the seller apparently, but they're adamant that they did!0
