Argos Click & Collect problem

I ordered a suitcase on Wednesday, which was to arrive on Friday (yesterday) which I need for tomorrow as I move back home from university and need it for moving my things home. Usually I get parcels delivered to my flat but alot haven't turned up lately so I thought I'd use Argos collection service, so I got an update yesterday morning saying it had been delivered to argos and is being prepared. Today it still says the same thing, so I called my store to ask how long it would take and they said they can't do anything without a Fm code and told me to call ebay. I've just spoken to ebay and they said they will get back to me within 48 hours with a code! Does it usually take this long?

I find click and collect seems to take an extra day. Buying Wednesday for a Friday pick up seems a little optimistic personally.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. This is one of the reasons why we dropped the C&C option, as we use a Next Day Courier yet it takes Argos 2-3 day to processed the order & have it ready for the customer to collect.0

i agree - my ebay seller this week dispatched on the 9th for Argos click and collect, i didn't get the email confirmation with the FM code until this morning.0 -
Too late for you now, but I have contacted a seller and asked for the code before. I've picked up before the collection email.
Hope the move went well.
If you don't need the suitcase now you can leave it at Argos where it will be returned to the seller free of charge, you will get your refund once it's back.0 -
Thanks all! Well it stated on ebay that it would be ready to collect on Friday (or would have arrived by Friday to my house), so I gave it an extra day and by Saturday afternoon I thought it must have arrived at the store, Argos said they couldn't do anything without the code, and eBay couldn't give me one either, I didn't think to ask the seller but I thought they probably wouldn't reply in time anyway.
I got an email saying it was ready for collection todaybut nevermind it will just get sent back now, I don't think I will be using it again really though
Thank you theonlywayisup0 -
Update - I didn't collect my item, presuming it would be sent back to the seller. I messaged them to ask how to return it and they confirmed it will just be sent back by Argos in due course. However I still haven't received my refund! I've been messaging the seller who said they can't do anything and won't refund me until they'd received it back, and that I must call Argos - called today and they said they had sent it back at the end of June. What happens now?0

You are going to have to open an INR on ebay, but don't delay for too long as you have a time limit to do so.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I assume you didn't escalate it then? If that is the case then all you can do is phone ebay and see if you can't get them to allow the case to be reopened briefly so that it can be escalated.
If they won't do that then you are stuck, all you can do is go via small claims.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. No I didn't, the seller made it sound like I wouldn't win anyway as I couldn't prove I had returned the item, I guess a paypal case is no good? The seller now says they want me to give a tracking number from Argos to prove they sent it back0
