I've got the Tightwad gazette (really good ideas in there and recipes) also subscribed to the pennypincher newsletter (don't remember the curtain lining underpants tho:D) I did make their recipe for ginger beer - very nice! Also re-used old envelopes
It is true that you really do need a bit of support to keep up these thrifty ways but worth doing as it gets us a holiday every year :dance:Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Surely you'll also need a bit of support to keep up the homemade underpants, especially if they're made out of blackout lining
OK, I'm going now......:D0 -

I'm just trying to imagine my hubby's face if I made underpants out of recycled Postman Pat curtains (they were never lined, so it would have to be the curtains themselves...) :rotfl:I lost my job as a cricket commentator for saying “I don’t want to bore you with the details”.Milton Jones0 -
A bit longer than three weeks, but I've reduced my water bill by a potential LOT by having a water meter fitted, saved a good few quid buying a new chair, switched from whole fat milk to semi skimmed and reduced how much I drink which has saved me £3.81 per week for ever... and reduced my waistline by a whole belt notch! Got into using what few coupons I come across... reviewed the way I look at BOGOF's and "big packs is cheapest"... getting ready to change to Gloop... Halved my dishwasher tablets...Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there.
