Steveyme apologies for jumping in but you seem to have some great answers. Would be great to hear your solution when you win
My problem is however is on the cabinet doors not only grease but stained in places after Dutch oil was used on the oak surfaces.
Tried a light bleach solution but to no avail. Anyone any thoughts? Will that de-greaser help?
CheersI believe past performance is a good guide to future performance :beer:0 -

This is what I always use for this sort of job.

I had a similar problem and ended up resorting to the likes of neat fairy liquid with a brillo pad. But the thing that made the most difference was a ceramic scraper. Used it for cleaning crap off the oven, scraped off the grease on cupboards and tiles, and paint splatter from worktops.0

When I moved into my rented flat I had a similar scenario. I used 'cream cleaner' (generic Jif/Cif type product) and one of those washing up sponges with a green scrubby side - gets it off really well but I wouldn't use it on real wood veneer or other delicate surface - my cupboard doors are the type made of moulded MDF with a shrunk on plastic type coating.Don’t try to keep up with the Jones’s. They are broke!0
