Moving into a flat - now what?

Options
Hey all

Please be patient with me - moving into my first own rented accom after life of studentness etc etc!

Anyway, the place im moving in has what looked like a telewest point, along with bt line (i think). Im only going to be living there for 6 months to a year, and not really fussed about landline with BT paying whatever it costs a month for line rental - but I DO need a broadband! So can I just phone Virgin Media and get that telewest point activated to get cable broadband?? I did postcode check and said that it's cable ready. Im attracted by their £10/month 2mb bb, and would prefer to do it online if it means i can get £55 from quidco.

And also, when is the time to register with them? Im hoping to move in on 20th, and would like the internet ASAP. Obviously registering when i've moved in will take longer, and I wont have net access to do it!

Cheers

p.s. I should also add that in my student house, we had a bulldog broadband which worked fine - apart from they STILL havent billed us, and took ages to get it up and going, I cant be doing with all that hassle!

Yes you can just have cable broadband only.Do it as soon as you can to meet rfs date.

Its a 12 month contact but it comes with a 30 day money back guarantee.

Remember when you calculate your costs it will be a 12 month contract. Even if you are only going to be there for 6 months.

I only know of ones using bt lines that have monthly contracts.

yeah 12 month contract - i'm guessing that can be transferred to a different house in the middle as long as the new flat is compatible with virgin?

and what happens when do i register? do i receive the cable modem in few days automatically? because I wont be there to receive any packages until 20th!

    cheers
