I don't know if this is the place to ask but I was wondering with competitions which contact you via phone if you won, what numbers they contact you from...

reason being is I don't have a house phone, as I ALWAYS use my mobile and don't see the point in having a home phone. Anyway back to my question, I have numerous cold callers (insurance companies, utility sellers etc) so I tend not to answer calls from foreign numbers, 0800 etc. but obviously I have been enterring competitions which will contact you via. phone to let you know if you have won, so I have lately been answering calls thinking I have won only to be talking to these waste of space cold callers, and it is really getting on my nerves and making me slip back into my old ways of not answering!

I always however answer answer private numbers which don't tend to be cold callers 90% of the time.

But was wondering if competition lines contact you from local landlines, 0800 numbers, private numbers or foreign numbers...or is it a mixture?

also is there a particular time of the day they contact you? or is it varied?
