I've won about 10 prizes altogether. I think I had e-mails for about 4 of them and the rest were just sent to me. I guess it all depends on the company. I have one e-mail account just for competitions but it's got so much junk mail in it, including fake winning e-mails, that I always think I'm going to miss the real ones in there now. :rolleyes:

I look what the email says in the from line and also the subject line before I open it - most winning emails (not all but most) are obvious when they are WEMs

yazoo milkshake comp - won ipod - just turned up with letter
disney channel - phonecall as in daughters name (wii console +game) then email
TCM - email (dvd box set)
real radio - just turned up (dvd)
classic fm - email (itunes downloads)
girl talk mag - just turned up (wii game)
ideal home mag - just turned up (years supply drain and sink cleaners!)
dr who mag x2 just turned up (toys)
mature times - just turned up (mouth ulcer stuff )
