If you have a John Lewis nearby you may want to try in store, and ask if they have any returns. Any returns to JL are sold in the store that sold them rather than going back to any central repository.
Of course it will be hit and miss what they have, depending on that has been returned, but my 16gb Mini 2 cost £259 back when the Mini 2 was the latest and full price was £319.
As Apple discontinue devices they memory options change, ipad mini 1 is only available now with 16gb, the Mini 2 has a 16 and 32gb options and the mini 3 has 16/64/128gb variants.
Personally I'd say go for the mini 2 or 3, they have the same hardware inside the 3 has touch ID so will be current longer. I've never run out of memory on my 16gb but then I don't often use it for lots of video, unless I'm going on a plane trip and even then I have enough space normally for 6 to 8 hours of video.
If you have an Aldi nearby they may still have some of the tough kiddie proof cases left to protect it too.0 -
