This might have already been covered so sorry if it has.
It is about the Tesco’s Hudl the first one that came out.
My son was wanted a tablet so we got him the Hudl, to cut a long story short in the first year it had to be exchanged 4 times due to the charging port on the Hudl, it ended up running out of warranty and went wrong again shortly after.
My grandsons had also gone wrong a number of times.
I sent an email to Tesco’s to tell them what a load of rubbish the Hudl was, and was supprised when I got an email back to say they would repair it, it was collected and repaird as promised, so that was good service well done on that part Tesco’s, we have had the Hudl back for approximately two week and it is going wrong again, so I repeat that above what a load of rubbish the Hudl is.
Anyone else had problems with the Hudl

It’s nice to be important but it’s more important to be nice.

Is it damage to the charging port caused by the insertion of charging cable incorrectly?
It can be fiddly?0 -

Yes it is the charging port and I said to my son who is 16, bring it to me when you need to charge it which he has done, I have made sure that the male part of the charging lead is the correct way round before it is connected and then gently connect the charging lead to the Hudl.
When they took it back last time they said they would repair it and fit a more sturdy robust charging port on the Hudl, but it looks the same to me small and flimsy. It’s nice to be important but it’s more important to be nice. :dance:0 -
The charging ports on these Hudls do seem to be their weakest point. When they designed them, they ought to have realised that children would probably be the primary customer target and increased it's robustness accordingly.0

I visited a factory in Eastern Europe that were manufacturing tablet computers, I could get a tablet with the same spec as a Hudl for £29 each and less if I ordered over 50,000 units etc
Your not going to get much engineering on a £30 quid tech product.0 -
My grandson's one had the headphone port fail just out of warranty. Tesco fixed it and it came back with a 90 day warranty from repair date. Within that time the charging port failed and they've fixed that but there is no further warranty.
I've no idea if either were due to mishandling but he doesn't get to charge it himself and always seems to be very careful with the headphones.
I wouldn't say it's rubbish but it does seem that port failures are common.0 -
just to balance,
My daughter (she is now 14) has had one since they were released. We have not had any problems with it at all.Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow..

The first Hudl was rubbish, I got my first one replaced, and when the replacement went wrong I got my money back and bought a Nexus 7.0

I had one from release day and sold it last week.It never let me down.I didn't have any of the issues some others reported.Maybe I was just lucky or maybe I was 1 careful owner0

Both of mine had problems from the first day of ownership, and the large number of other people reporting problems does suggest that you were fortunate to get a good one.
Nor really relevant to the thread as that's a Hudl 2.0
