Let the child sit there - will not be long before you are seated together!

I'd hate to be the airline who's emergency evacuation was held up by parents trying to reach their children, I don't imagine the CAA would be taking any prisoners.

This is what the people who advocate, pay if you want sit together, miss re the CAA guideline.

The lawyers would have an absolute field day. You can see the first question they would ask why did you ignore CAA guidelines.
Private Parking Tickets - Make sure you put your Subject Access Request in after 25th May 2018 - It's free & ask for everything, don't forget the DVLA :D

This is what frustrates me about the whole debate. There is a real safety issue here when groups, especially families, are seated apart. Parents are going to prioritise their children over other passengers in an emergency situation and if they are seated far apart, then you could have a very dangerous evacuation.

We nearly ended up seated apart on a Ryanair flight as we were the last people onto the plane (this was years ago, before you could book seats or priority boarding). We had a 2 year old and 5 year old and the crew asked a couple of passengers to move so that I was sat next to the toddler and my husband was across the aisle from our daughter. Nobody had to move very far and if they minded moving, they didn't show it.
"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee."

Maybe. But has that changed anything?

We need to keep raising the issue to try to embarrass airlines into doing something.

    Keep bashing these extortionists MSE.

It's Ryanair -- what do its customers expect, service or something?

MSE is turning into the daily mail. Ranting about issues for no reason.

Ifd there's a danger in the plane while airborne serious enough that you need to use air/evacuate you're basically good as dead. So I don't know what the fuss is about. Sometimes I trhink the air safety BS is just a routine to make flyers feel safe.

"Don't worry, if all our engines fail in midair just put your air mask ok. LOL."

We use Ryanair on occasion and whilst it does not bother me in the slightest, my partner would hate to sit alone. For that reason we always pay to sit together.

I don't see why people traveling with children should get this service for free if I have to pay for it; I agree with Ryanair's position on this matter and I feel they inform customers quite well about this, nobody is forced to travel with Ryanair - they take the cheaper flight but don't want the cheaper service, you can't have it all!

I have had this happen many many times - particularly in the US and especially on Delta. Things always get sorted. This is a non story.
