Unsure where to post this, but does it really take 4 weeks to setup a direct debit with National Lottery?
Does anyone have recent experience?

No; but they only collect once a month I believe.43580

When you take out a direct debit with National Lottery you get a start date of the date of the first entry. If you want to enter before then you have to do it manually. The time scale is up to 4 weeks. As I remember it I entered Euromillions 4 times over two weeks until the dd entries kicked in.0

Yes, it's because they calculate how much money they take out on a monthly basis. So if you sign up for 1 game a week, they take out however many games you could play during that month in advance. So some months you can play 4 times, other 5 etc. depending on how many days your draw occurs during that month.
Cancelling the DD also takes around a month.0 -
i thought that didn't look right..
i have continued playing the lottery in store, paying with Amex and earning some cashback in the process;), but perhaps setting up a DD is a good idea as having plenty to spread around accounts for incentives/rates/rewards/perks is always handy.0 -
Camelot CS cannot move a existing DD to a different bank account once it's set up. Current Account switches do work, though. I tried and failed to move my Camelot DD from my main bank account to a secondary one in advance of switching the latter elsewhere, but gave up after getting the same answer by email and phone from several Camelot CS reps. They insisted only the bank could change it, which is clearly nonsense, and Santander confirmed that.0

Hiya,
Just did this - my direct debit is set up for one draw per week ( friday) so for example they take £10 on the 10/6/15 with my first draw on the 19/6 /15 ... Thereafter every 4 weeks they take £10 - hope this helps
To open an account the address is :

It takes 10 days to set up, when registering this way you have to provide ID
Hope this helps0 -
Think I might set up a direct debit. Will save having to check the numbers every time and worrying that I may miss checking a draw. I do the same numbers every time and buy the ticket once a month. I get new raffle numbers with each ticket.
How does it work with purchasing direct from Camelot. Do the raffle numbers stay the same?0 -

I get a different new ticket for each draw so the raffle numbers are different for every draw. The numbers paid by direct debit have to be the same but you can enter extra tickets in the same draw or other draws. But you need to do it manually and you need funds in your account apart from the DD funds.0 -
Thanks for the replies everybody.
Does anyone know If I played by DD and chose lucky dip, will my numbers remain the same as the first 'lucky dip' or a fresh set of numbers for each draw?0
