    Could be someone dumped it in his garden and hes damned if hes going to pay to get rid of it.

    Knock on his door and tell him youve a mate who owes you a favour that could shift it (then pay someone to take it to tip)

    It's likely this neighbour doesn't like your curtains either. But as its YOUR house, it really is none of his business.

    But seriously, it would depend on specific circumstances. I might speak to him about it, but not if there is a history of him threatening/swearing at me....(or other neighbours).

    I might ring, or suggest he ring, the council - but not if the local council charge an arm and a leg to collect.

    I might use a mate's van at night, or offer him my mate's van, but not if I don't have a mate with a van!
