If it sounds too good to be true I'd stay away from it. Anywhere that says "Cash Only" sounds dodgy to me.

I would advise extreme caution, sounds like a scam to me. I thought Argos sell off stuff at clearance prices?

Its a con, you'll end up being made to buy sealed tat, thinking you are getting some of the stuff advertised, that no doubt "lucky" attendees(Fake buyer) will get to buy.

anyone with an @yahoo.co.uk for a business address, can't be taken seriously.

If I were you I'd stay at home, thats the best way of saving money here.

A Yahoo e-mail address and huge savings on items that they don't need to discount = the real hustle.

Ebay would yield them significantly more money on the consoles if it was genuine - avoid.

This smacks off the old fashioned 'Auctions' which were outlawed years ago. Remember them well with the 'shills' in the crowd who brought all the bargains and the public were left with the tat!

Lol, the real hustle, OH loves that show.

It will be a scam, you'd be better off contacting trading standards, the local police or having a word with the steward at the club - the places that let them hold these rip off sales should bear some resposibility.

There is an outlet on ebay clearance-bargainsuk who sell off argos end of line, I bought a camcorder from and was very pleases - good price and brand new.

I went to one many years ago with my mum and you just get caught up with all the bargains that you realise later the shills were getting - we ended up with 2 vases, a multi slicer and a teaset that poundland wouldn't give room - however it has provided endless hours of laughing when we look back - but we only spent a couple of quid others probably weren't so lucky.

The headline items are only shown to get you in. Some of these scamming auctions use to charge an entrance fee. Mainly aimed at the less well off areas and you will only walk off with a 24 piece dinner service of low quality for £10 or something similar.
It was interesting standing at the back and watching how these people operate and they are very skilled at get money from you. Just don't expect to get a bargain or be able to take anything back when it falls apart.

They will lock the doors, and won't let you leave till the end, or until yoiu've bought something - nothing to do with security!

I remember back aprox 20yrs ago, when i was 16 and a friend and me took a day trip to london and got caught in one of these. We ended up buying a rubbish camera for a fiver just to get out - goods were handed out in a black rubbish bag which was sealed and you weren't allowed to open it till you left.

We were young and nieve, and they took full advantage of us.
    Please don't go to this.
