Agree, blatant breach of data protection, despite the circumstances. Proving your ID doesn't prove that the relative consented to you cancelling it.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Sorry if my reply was miss-understood regarding data protection and I.D.
I went into the shop with my famil relative who is in a wheelchair and the documents were all hers including her own I.D. ( Sorry if it looked like it was my I.D which it wasn't).
She can hardly speak and when the chap who helped called through to whoever he spoke with to cancel the contract, the person on the telephone informed him that unless the lady was actaully in the shop and could speak to her, as well as having I.D for verification, she would not be able to help at that time.
My family member can hardly speak but through speaking slowly she managed to provide the information that was required in order to complete everything correctly.
Hope this clears everything up.0
